1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They help the site remember your session, preferences, and settings. Some cookies are set by us (first-party) and some by external services we use (third-party).

The same consent rules also apply to similar technologies such as local storage and unique identifiers.

2. How we use cookies

We keep the number of cookies to a minimum. Kliport uses only the cookies needed to make the Service work and to remember your preferences — we do not place advertising or profiling cookies, and we do not sell your data.

3. Cookies we use

Session cookie: an HTTP-only cookie that keeps you signed in while you use the app. It is essential — without it you cannot stay logged in.

Authentication cookies: set by our authentication provider (better-auth) to manage your login session and CSRF protection. Essential.

Preference cookies: remember small UI choices such as the state of your sidebar or the login redirect after sign-out. Essential for a smooth experience, but you can clear them without breaking the core service.

Analytics (with your consent): we use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool. Umami does not set advertising or profiling cookies, hashes IP addresses, and reports aggregate usage (pages, referrers, devices). The script only loads after you choose "Accept all"; choosing "Essential only" keeps analytics off.

We do not use advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking cookies of any kind.

4. Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. The help menu in most browsers explains how (for example, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge all allow per-site or global cookie controls).

Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from staying signed in to workspaces, since your session depends on them.

You can also clear cookies and site data for a specific site from your browser, which signs you out of that site and resets your stored preferences.

5. Your consent

Under the GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, and the UK PECR, cookies that are strictly necessary do not require consent. Non-essential cookies — analytics, advertising, or preference cookies that are not strictly necessary — require your consent first.

Because Kliport relies on essential cookies to operate, these are set automatically. Analytics load only after you give consent, and you may withdraw it at any time by reopening the banner via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
